To the southwest of my studio lies the dramatic sweeping view of the oldest mountain range in the world, the Sawtooth Mountains. These sharp ridges lying on the Laurentian Divide provide for me the subtle drama seen in the angles and ridges of my rings, pendants, and earrings. Other elements driving my work are the movement of water, by turns gentle and violent in any season; the patterns, angles, and texture of the Lake Superior columnar basalt along the shore; tree-covered islands reflected in a calm northern lake; and of course the magic displays of the Aurora Borealis.
